Whether you’re Christian or Jewish, this time of the year is always full of friends, family, and cheer! And how fun is it that the first night of Hanukkah is Christmas Eve this year?! If you have a multi religious family and are celebrating both holidays (Christmukkah) or you just want to get together with your friends of various faiths, I’ve got a super easy 30-Minute Teriyaki Meatballs Recipe and some ideas just for you!
First, you’ve got to get your decorations. Christmas decorations were are cinch since my house is already decked out in red, green, and lights and if yours isn’t every store has more than enough options. Hanukkah decorations were a different story. I have found that it is incredibly difficult to find Hanukkah decorations in Omaha. You might have to borrow from your Jewish guests or purchase some blue, white, and silver things. If you plan enough in advance Amazon is always a great option! I was really hoping to get an inexpensive little menorah but no luck so I printed and framed one and it was still pretty cute.
Honestly, it’s quite overwhelming to throw a party at home. Why? Have you ever tried to clean and decorate your house with two babies who are right behind you undoing everything you did in 2 hours, in just 2 minutes? So, since most of your time is spent keeping kids alive, cleaning up every goldfish, and trying to make it festive, you need quick and easy recipes… and to ask your guests to bring a dish to share. Everyone loves sharing their favorite recipe and it will help you enjoy the holiday with a little less stress.
You might be asking “what kind of food should I serve at a Christmukkah party?” The answer– Asian! Everyone loves some Chinese food, it’s kosher, and its not your same old Christmas ham that everyone is tired of eating. With the help of Soy Vay® there are endless yummy recipes to whip up.
These 30-Minute Teriyaki Meatballs are so easy! Just mix the beef, shape it into balls, bake, and coat the meatballs in the warm sweet sauce. Serve it on a platter with toothpicks to eat as an appetizer or serve over a bed of rice as a full meal. Either way, these babies will disappear in no time.
And for one more festive touch– music! You can play a mix of Christmas and Hanukkah but how about including this fun Chrismukkah Song by Soy Vay that celebrates both?!
