Well my family (of 3) went through a 4 pound container of strawberries in less than a week. I don’t think there was a single bad one in the whole batch (though we didn’t give them much time to go bad)! Gotta love Costco’s produce! We ate most of them with ice cream and hot fudge (it became a nightly tradition) but the rest we just munched on. Gosh I just love fresh summer berries, don’t you?!
I also recently used strawberries to make my mom’s homemade Strawberry Freezer Jam recipe. If you’ve never made or even tried homemade jam, this is the recipe to try! It’s so simple and tastes 1,768 times better than what you can buy in the store. Plus you don’t have to know anything about canning or worry about botulism because this stuff stores in the freezer. Put it on toast, rolls, a sandwich, cake… the possibilities are endless! I rolled some of my jam up into this lovely Swiss roll along with a cream cheese/cool whip mixture. Such a refreshing combo!
I’m a new contributor to the blog Real Housemoms which is where you can find this lovely recipe. Enjoy!
