I’m not a huge fan of Halloween. I like the dressing up and cute fun things but no way will I ever go to a haunted house or eat creepy looking food that looks like brains. Instead I’ll stick with the fun loving kid friendly treats like Chocolate Pumpkin Cupcakes and these Halloween Chocolate covered Pretzels.
I’m used to dipping pretzels to look like a bride and groom so this was a fun change. They’re pretty simple and require few ingredients. The main things you need pretzels, candy melts, and candy eyes.
WARNING! If you make these with kids they will eat half of the ingredients before you even make them. And then they make the cute pretzels and can’t resist eating way too many.
For the vampire bats you’ll also need red M&M’s, marshmallows, and Oreo Thins. Not the regular Oreos. They’re too heavy and the wings will fall off. To make the fangs you just have to cut the marshmallows in half on a diagonal.
The mummies are my favorite. They’re super easy to make but so cute! Just dip the pretzels, place the candy eyes, and then drizzle on more chocolate. Just place the chocolate in a plastic bag, cute the tip off and drizzle away.
Let’s just get it out there, this Frankenstein somewhat resembles Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street. Maybe they’re related! For these guys, you’ll also need sprinkles and mini chocolate chips. You don’t needs tons of red sprinkles so I just picked them out of my rainbow sprinkles. And if you don’t want to buy chocolate sprinkles for the hair you could always just dip the tops in chocolate. Mmmm!
The pumpkins are super simple. Just dip, sprinkle, and top with a green M&M. Simple, cute, and yummy!Remember the Purple People Eater? That’s what this little monster reminds me of. You can top him with one big eye, a big and little eye, 3 eyes… whatever. Get creative!
Which one will you make first? Or will you try all of them???
