Whether you’re celebrating the release of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 or just want some yummy Greek food, these Greek Chicken Gyros with Tzatziki Sauce make for an easy and delicious meal.
I don’t know about you but I’m WAY excited that My Big Fat Greek Wedding has a sequel!!!! I just hope it is as good as the first. Seriously, one of my favs. I still quote lines from that hilarious movie.
“All my life, I’ve had a lump at the back of my neck, right here. Always a lump. Then I started menopause and the lump got bigger from the ‘hormonees.’ It started to grow. So I go to the doctor and he did the bio… the b.. the… bios… the… b… the ‘bobopsy.’ Inside the lump he found teeth and a spinal cord. Yes. Inside the lump was my twin.”
And I can never make or see a bundt cake without thinking of My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
“It’s a cake! I know! Thank you! …There’s a hole in this cake!”
These Greek Chicken Gyros with Tzatziki Sauce are the perfect easy meal to get you in the spirit of the movie. The chicken is packed with Greek seasoning and the crisp raw veggies plus the tzatziki sauce make it so refreshing and healthy.
Have you ever made tzatziki sauce? It’s really quite simple and tastes fantastic! Just grate up some cucumber, mix it into Greek yogurt, add a few spices and voila!
As with many of my chicken recipes (this one, this one, this one), the chicken is pounded. If you don’t have a meat mallet, get one! (I use this one) Or you can also use a rolling pin. I love pounding my chicken. Not only is it fun but with all seriousness it allows for even cooking across the entire chicken breast and since it is thin it takes only a short time to become cooked all the way through.
You can find recipes for making your own Greek Seasoning, but McCormick makes one that is delish!
Enjoy these scrumptious Greek Chicken Gyros with Tzatziki Sauce!
