Christmas Pretzel M&M Hugs
How cute and festive are these?! Plus, they are so dang addicting! It’s basically a chocolate covered pretzel and that sweet and salty combo just always get me.
With just three ingredients, these are so easy to make and a great activity for your kids to join in on. My girls had so much fun racing to see who could unwrap the most Hugs.
Ingredients for Christmas Pretzel Hugs:
- M&M’s– I used plain but if you want to change things up, use a different variety of M&M like peanut butter, peanut, almond…
- Hugs– The white and chocolate combination of these is yummy and so pretty. For a peppermint version, buy the red and white peppermint Kisses.
- Snap Pretzels– These square pretzels work better than the regular Mini Twists because the extra lattice holds the chocolate up. It also helps the Hug smash down evenly so the stripes don’t get super crooked. Do NOT use the butter snaps.
How to make Pretzel M&M Hugs:
Time needed: 20 minutes
- Prep
Preheat oven to 200 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Assemble & Bake
Place pretzels on the lined pan and then top each pretzel with a Hug. Bake for 4-5 minutes or until chocolate is shiny but shape is still retained.
- Add M&M’s
Immediately press a M&M onto each hug. Allow to cool completely and then enjoy or package.
FAQs
Yes! However, the white chocolate melts easier/quicker so if you choose a chocolate Kiss, you might need to leave it in the oven 1-2 minutes longer. Just keep an eye on it.
Once completely cooled place them in an airtight container. You can package them up in a tin canister or in a festive plastic treat bag tied with a ribbon.
TOOLS USED TO MAKE THESE PRETZEL HUGS:
- Silicone Baking Mat– This non-stick mat prevents anything from sticking and helps evenly space cookies.
- Half-Sheet Pan– I LOVE these pans. I’ve had the same 4 pans since I got married (10 years ago) and they are in great condition. I use them all the time for sheet cakes, cookies, roasting vegetables, baking chicken…

OMG they’re so good and the rest if my class loved them i’m just a kid, but i still made them and i can’t tell you how fast they were gone from the tray i actually had to start to hid all the snack bags i made for dismissal, so lesson learned for me always have extra or else there will be no more left or just set up limits.

I’ve made these with different chocolate and M and Ms and they are easy and fun to make. Everyone who tasted them loved them. They make cute little snack bags too.
