Both my kids are now in school but the evenings and dinner time are still difficult because the kids are tired so quick easy dinners like this Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta are my saving grace. Honestly, it’s been nice to have some piece and quite so I can get some work and house projects done. When the kids are home I’m able to give them my full attention since I was able to focus and get things done.
Shrimp and pasta were made for each other! Not only do they taste great together but both are super easy to cook and do so quite quickly making them great for weeknight dinners.
How to Make Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta:
As with any recipe, it’s important to get all the ingredients prepped and ready to be added at the proper time. This meal really comes together quickly so having everything measured out to add at the appropriate time is necessary.
First, prepare the sauce. Just mix together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, lime juice, and sriracha. If you want to keep this meal mild, you can decrease or omit the sriracha. You can use regular mayonnaise, light, or even Greek yogurt. Set the sauce aside to add at the very end.
Next, cook the noodles according to package. You can really use whatever shape of noodle you want so just use what you have on hand and cook until al dente. Meanwhile, cook the shrimp.
My favorite way to cook shrimp is to saute it in a pan with butter. You can use olive oil but butter tastes amazing with shrimp. I mean, can you ever go wrong with butter! Just melt the butter in a pan and then cook the shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side until pink. Add the garlic for the last 30 seconds, turn off the heat, and then you can add in the drained noodles and the sauce. Toss it until everything is evenly coated in that yummy creamy sauce.
Finish off the dish by sprinkling with cilantro and red pepper flakes. Many other recipes call for parsley or green onions but I love the refreshing flavor that cilantro brings and it always pairs wells with Thai Sweet Chili sauce.
Can I use frozen shrimp?
Yes! That’s what I use and it is a great idea for always having on hand for when you want to whip up this meal. To thaw the shrimp quickly, place them in a bowl of cold water for about 20 minutes. I recommend buying deveined shrimp so that all you have to do after the shrimp thaws is peel it.
It may seem weird that the sauce is made using mayonnaise but remember, it’s just egg and oil so really this recipe is pretty similar to a carbonara. It’s amazing how creamy eggs can make a pasta sauce. You are going to love this pasta for sure!

TOOLS USED TO MAKE THIS HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN & ASPARAGUS:
Cast Iron Skillet– A cast iron skillet is a kitchen must have. It heats evenly and gives meats a nice crust.
Tongs– Every kitchen needs a good set of tongs! I love that this set comes with two lengths of tongs, both locking.
Pot & Skillet Set– These are the skillets and pots I use. They have a heavy bottom making them sturdy and cook the food evenly. I use these multiple times a day.
